Charm & Magic is a collection of jewels designed to help people connect to themselves. The mini malas are a playful version of the traditional japa mala.

WHAT IS A JAPA MALA?

A japa mala is a set of 108 beads used for meditation and prayer.  Similar to rosary beads, they ground and guide the user as they touch each bead.

WHAT MAKES A mini MALA mini?

Made with smaller beads, these necklaces are a bit more delicate and playful than the traditional japa mala.

HOW TO WEAR / USE:

These malas exist for connection and protection. You can use with a prayer and mantra practice or wear and be reminded of a greater intention.  You can touch each bead during your meditation, morning commute, or any moments of pause in your day.  Here is a brief video tutorial.

MY FIRST MALA:

I taught yoga in college and when I graduated, one of my students gifted me a japa mala she had made.  During my first job teaching dance in a NYC public elementary school I was scared, anxious, nervous, pretty much every day as I figured out how to be a teacher.

During my morning commute I rolled each bead through my fingers, as I waited for the crosstown bus, and walked down the steps to the subway.  Those beads anchored me, held my worries, angst, and fear as I navigated through each day.

Now, many years later, I am tremendously grateful to have such a powerful tool to turn use to pull me back to my center and to my heart.

MY WISH:

May these malas ground and guide you as you seek CHARM & MAGIC always.
